Updated: Aug 2, 2020

Try this award-winning combination of DIY Korean Pancake Batter and fragrant Perilla Leaves. Ready in less than 10 minutes!

More commonly known as Shiso by the Japanese, Perilla Leaves are easily one of the most popular and tasty herbs that pair best with Grilled Beef or Pork. Hints of mint, nuttiness and unrivalled fragrance are released with each chew. This is one herb you need to try.

Perilla Leaves can usually be found in the Korean section at your nearest supermarket.

  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder

  • 2 Tbsp Red Chili Paste or Gochujang (optional)

  • 1 Tbsp Red Chili Pepper Flakes or Gochugaru (optional)

Directions

  1. Combine the ingredients for the Pancake Batter in a mixing bowl and mix well to remove any lumps.

  2. Add some oil to a heated pan.

Here is a short video of how it should look like:

Made too many? Store your leftover pancakes in an airtight container and place them in the fridge. The pancakes should keep well for the next 3-4 days.

Enjoy!

Signing off, Cher
