Elevate your usual French Toast recipe with everyone's favourite drink - Coffee! For this recipe I've used an espresso shot from my Nespresso Machine but you could use instant coffee powder mixed with water as well.
Tip: Serve it up with your favourite toppings - Strawberries, Indulgent Whipped Cream or a generous slab of salted butter. Mmhm!
Cooking Time: 5 mins | Makes 4 - 5 Toasts
Ingredients
50ml Espresso shot, cooled down
50ml Milk
3/4 - 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
1 Egg
4 slices of Bread
1 Tbsp Salted Butter
Whipped Cream - Optional Topping
Directions
Add the espresso shot, milk, maple syrup and egg to an empty dish and stir well.
In a heated pan (low/ medium heat), add salted butter.
Generously dip each slice of bread in the coffee mixture and transfer to pan.
Fry on both sides until golden brown.
Ready to serve! (I like mine best with extra butter on top)
Don't you just love the sound of a coffee machine!
Enjoy!
Signing off, Cher
